At Deldar Dental, we support white non-metal dental fillings. We use fillings to fill a cavity formed by tooth decay, or to repair broken, cracked, and worn teeth. The most obvious advantage of non-metal fillings is that they blend in with your teeth more than silver amalgam fillings.
Our holistic approach: Using non toxic materials only.
Silver amalgam fillings are a mix of silver, tin, zinc, copper, and mercury. That last ingredient should alarm you because silver amalgam fillings contain 50% mercury. Some oral health experts believe that this amount of mercury is harmless, but most are concerned about the possible long-term effects.
Amalgam fillings can corrode over time and may discolour the area where the filling meets the tooth. Don't be fooled by name and colour: Silver amalgams are made up of more than just silver. "Amalgam" means a mixture or blend.
Traditional silver amalgam fillings do not easily bond to teeth. To ensure that the fillings fit snugly and adhere to teeth, dentists prepare a pocket by drilling extra and removing some healthy tooth structure.
In addition, when you have a silver amalgam filling sitting near a gold filling, the two metals interact and your saliva can produce an uncomfortable electric current known as galvanic shock.
Do you have silver / mercury fillings? Are you aware what these are doing to your health?
Mercury is highly toxic and even little bits of it released into the bloodstream can cause it to travel to the entire body. Possible health risks due to exposure to mercury over time include mood swings, insomnia, headaches/migraines, and tremors.
Dr. Deldar recommends to get rid of your metal-mercury fillings.
